FAW TRUCKS Debuts J6P Heavy-duty Truck in Senegal
DAKAR, Senegal (chinatrucks.org) —On May 22, 2025, Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer FAW TRUCKS launched its J6P heavy-duty truck in Senegal, marking the company’s official entry into the West African market.
The launch event, held in Dakar, was organized in partnership with TRACTAFRIC Group, a major distributor of industrial and transportation equipment across Africa. More than 200 attendees, including representatives from FAW TRUCKS, Senegalese government agencies, logistics companies, and local media, participated in the event.

The J6P truck, one of FAW TRUCKS’ flagship models, was unveiled to the Senegalese public for the first time. The vehicle has been adapted for African road conditions and features upgrades aimed at long-distance transport, infrastructure projects and mining operations. Attendees at the launch praised the truck’s performance, fuel efficiency and comfort.

“The J6P is designed to meet the demands of challenging operating environments while maintaining reliability and cost-efficiency,” the company said in a statement.
TRACTAFRIC Group, FAW TRUCKS’ local partner, operates in more than 20 African countries and provides a range of equipment and services for trucks, machinery, and energy projects. The company has an established service and parts network across Central, West and East Africa.

FAW TRUCKS plans to work closely with TRACTAFRIC to expand its sales and service infrastructure in West Africa, with the goal of improving local product support and customer satisfaction.

The launch aligns with FAW TRUCKS’ international growth strategy, known as “SPRINT2030,” which seeks to increase the company’s global footprint and develop commercial vehicle solutions for emerging markets.
