FAW TRUCKS Ships 64 HU 6G Light Trucks to the Philippines
FAW TRUCKS has delivered 64 HU 6G high-end light trucks to the Philippines, marking the model’s first mass shipment in Southeast Asia. The delivery underscores the company’s growing footprint in the global high-end light truck market.
FAW light trucks have been a trusted choice in the Philippines, with annual sales exceeding 2,000 units for the past two years. To accelerate its overseas expansion, the project team completed planning, R&D, trial production, and test assembly of the low-emission HU 6G in just three months. The first batch includes 32 cargo trucks and 32 dump trucks, fulfilling the company’s commitment to local customers.
The HU 6G stands out for three key strengths: high value, reliable power, and strong load capacity. Its modern design and durable performance have made it popular in high-end markets within low-emission countries.
High Value: The cabin now features a mechanical pump engine for the first time, tailored to local needs, with stylish interiors and exteriors that deliver a premium experience at an affordable price.
Reliable Power: Equipped with a 4.2L mechanical pump engine, the truck provides stable and strong performance, capable of carrying heavy loads efficiently on any terrain.
Strong Load Capacity: Cargo trucks feature a wide straight-through frame with upgraded axles, while dump trucks use a double-layer frame with high-load axles and reinforced suspension, maximizing carrying ability and operational efficiency.
FAW TRUCKS’ overseas light truck business has grown rapidly in recent years. Sales rose from over 5,000 units in 2023 to 11,000 in 2024 and 14,000 in 2025. In September 2024, the company established the overseas light vehicle PDT team to integrate R&D, manufacturing, and marketing resources, breaking market barriers and enabling faster growth.
The brand has also achieved strong results in multiple international markets. In South Africa, 2025 sales reached 2,700 units, a 130% increase year-on-year, with 220 units of the locally developed AMT model ordered. In Myanmar, orders surged from a few hundred in 2024 to over 1,000 in 2025, entering a core market. In March 2026, a new order for 700 units highlighted continuing strong momentum.
Looking ahead, FAW TRUCKS will continue its “International FAW TRUCKS” strategy under the “SPRINT 2030” internationalization plan. By focusing on quality and customer needs, the company aims to launch more high-quality light trucks for global markets and further enhance the international reputation of Chinese commercial vehicle brands.
