Foton Cavan Ships First Batch of CAVAN C1 Electric Vans to Europe
Foton Cavan has shipped nearly 100 units of its CAVAN C1 electric vans to customers in the European Union, marking the company’s first batch delivery to the region.
The vehicles departed from Qingdao Port and will be delivered to multiple EU markets in phases.
Europe is widely regarded as one of the most demanding commercial vehicle markets globally. Vehicles entering the EU must obtain Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) and comply with strict regulations covering safety, environmental standards, and data security. In addition, customers in the region typically require strong product localization and reliable service support.
Against this backdrop, the shipment represents an important step in Foton Cavan’s international expansion strategy.
Technology Development Supporting Global Expansion
Since its establishment, Foton Cavan has positioned itself as a global new-energy commercial vehicle brand. The company has focused its development efforts on vehicle platforms, energy management systems, intelligent technologies, and software-defined vehicle architecture.
These capabilities have enabled the development of a dedicated new-energy commercial vehicle platform covering micro, light-duty, and heavy-duty vehicle segments. All models are designed in accordance with international regulatory standards.
Following the start of its overseas expansion in 2025, Foton Cavan has gradually built its presence in international markets. By 2026, the company had secured more than 300 overseas orders, with vehicles entering 15 European countries as well as Australia and New Zealand.
The latest shipment to EU customers represents a milestone in the company’s progress in Europe.
Looking ahead, Foton Cavan plans to expand into 50 countries, establish 500 service outlets, and reach global sales of 50,000 vehicles within the next three years. The company also plans to present its products at the IAA Transportation exhibition in Hanover, Germany, in September 2026.

Compliance and Product Performance for the European Market
The EU commercial vehicle market is characterized by strict certification requirements. WVTA approval covers areas including vehicle safety, environmental performance, and information security.
Through product design and comprehensive testing programs, Foton Cavan has obtained EU certification for its new energy vehicles, enabling market entry across the region.
The CAVAN C1 electric van is equipped with CATL’s Tianxing liquid-cooled battery system.
The 66.67 kWh version offers a WLTC driving range of up to 320 km, with energy consumption of 20.4 kWh per 100 km. According to the company, each vehicle can reduce carbon emissions by approximately 12 tons per year compared with conventional vehicles.
The van also features an 11 kW onboard charger, enabling a full charge in about 6.5 hours, which aligns with typical urban delivery operations in Europe, where daily driving distances generally range from 150 km to 200 km.

For safety, the vehicle complies with EU ECE regulations and includes an ESC electronic stability control system, which can significantly reduce rollover risk. The model has undergone 3,490 functional verification tests and 990 performance tests to ensure reliability under various operating conditions.
In addition, the vehicle has been upgraded to meet EU requirements for data protection and cybersecurity, supporting its acceptance by European fleet customers.
Developing a Global Service Network
Foton Cavan’s international strategy focuses on integrating products, services, branding, and ecosystem development to support overseas market growth.
The CAVAN C1 is equipped with an intelligent cockpit featuring a 12.8-inch central display, supporting functions such as facial recognition and voice control. Radar and camera systems enable 23 driver assistance functions, designed for European driving environments.
To support after-sales service in the region, the company has established a spare parts supply center in Europe to shorten parts delivery times.
Foton Cavan is also working with partners to provide charging infrastructure planning, construction, and operational services for fleet customers.
The vehicle has been optimized for urban operation, with a minimum turning radius of 5.75 meters, making it suitable for narrow European city streets.

Expanding Presence in Global Markets
From early pilot sales to large-scale shipments, Foton Cavan has gradually expanded its presence in Europe through technology development and international market planning.
The company plans to continue increasing deliveries in Europe while exploring new opportunities in Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.
At the same time, Foton Cavan will continue improving vehicle energy efficiency, driving range, and intelligent driving technologies, while updating its products to meet evolving European regulatory requirements.
The company is also expanding its overseas service network and charging ecosystem to strengthen localized operations in key markets.
With these initiatives, Foton Cavan aims to further grow its international footprint and support the global development of new energy commercial vehicles.
