Foton Kicks off 2026 with Great Momentum, Accelerates Global Expansion
Foton has kicked off 2026 with impressive growth in overseas markets. In the first two months of the year, the company’s export orders rose 27.9% compared with the same period in 2025, maintaining its leadership in global commercial vehicle exports. Thanks to the AEO advanced customs certification, these orders are rapidly turning into deliveries, helping Chinese-made commercial vehicles reach international markets more efficiently.
Europe is seeing significant gains. From January to February, BAIC Foton’s orders in the region surged 136% year on year. Chinese pickups and light trucks now lead European exports, serving a variety of transport needs. To meet the specific demands of urban logistics in Spain, BAIC Foton supplied DSV with electric light-duty trucks customized for narrow city streets, delivering high efficiency and strong recognition in Barcelona.

Africa is also experiencing rapid growth, with orders up 126.7% year on year. Micro trucks, pickups, heavy-duty, and light-duty vehicles all performed strongly. In South Africa, BAIC Foton’s comprehensive local production strategy is progressing steadily. Its Elizabeth Port facility—the country’s largest automotive project in nearly 40 years—is producing locally tailored vehicles that meet market demand. The company is also introducing multiple pure-electric models, supporting the region’s green transition with Chinese solutions.

Looking ahead, BAIC Foton will continue to expand its full product line globally. Leveraging its core “Three-Electric” technologies and international partnerships, the company is accelerating the rollout of electric, hybrid, and hydrogen commercial vehicles. Smart technologies combined with localized solutions will enhance competitiveness. Production at key factories in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia will ramp up, while parts localization and collaboration with domestic suppliers will strengthen a resilient global supply chain.

Beijing Customs continues to support BAIC Foton’s overseas growth through a “one-on-one” assistance program, ensuring fast and efficient customs clearance. Guidance on AEO compliance helps maintain smooth operations across the company’s international supply network.
