2009 China's 10, 000.000th Automobile Rolled off at FAW
(chinatrucks.com, Dec.9, 2009)A new model of Jiefang J6, the 10,000,000th produced vehicle of China in 2009, rolled off the assembly line on Oct 20 at China FAW Group. The event means China has become the third country in the world to surpass the auto annual output of ten million units following the United States and Japan.
The celebration was jointly sponsored by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China Society of Automotive Engineering, China Automotive Technology and Research Center, CCPIT Automotive Sub-Council, China Automotive News and China FAW Group Corporation.

FAW, established in 1953, is China's oldest automotive manufacturer. The Corporation produced the first China's home-grown truck named Jiefang in year 1956, and later on produced famous Hongqi limousines. FAW Jiefang J6, the representative of China's 10,000,000th automobile of 2009, is awarded outstanding prize of China Automotive Industry Science and Technology recently. Through the development for over 50 years, China's automotive industry is playing an important role in leading the growth of national economy. The annual auto output exceeding 10 million is a milestone for China's automotive industry and a good beginning for the industry to realize the further goals.
FAW Group is a leading global manufacturer of quality passenger cars, trucks, and buses. Established in 1953, the company is China's oldest and largest automotive group. Annual sales exceed one million units.
