Main Auto Makers to Compete Light Truck Markets
www.chinatrucks.com: Competition of light truck markets are getting more and more fierce in 2011, and production capacity growth will be the major power to influence market patterns.
The first FAW-GM Harbin vehicle rolled off production line on early Jan. And the annual output will amount to 100,000 units. And Jiefang light truck will be formally produced in batches next month. FAW Qingdao factory enlarged production capacity last November, and they will produce 168,000 heavy trucks and medium trucks, as well as 80,000 light trucks.
Currently Beiqi new production base in Hebei Province will start to produce vehicles in end of 2012 or early 2013. Beiqi Group invested five billion Yuan in the first phase and ten billion Yuan for the second phase to produce light trucks mainly.
Dongfeng light truck production base will start to produce light trucks in October, 2011, and the production capacity will amount to 100,000 units annually.
Sales of JBC light trucks were always affected by inadequate production capacity, and Jinbei production capacity will be 240,000 units more after new four projects finished.
