FAW Jiefang to build truck production base in South Africa

www.chinatrucks.com: FAW production base started to build in the largest industrial park in Africa, Coega Industrial Zone, on Feb. 28. The assembly is invested by FAW and Central Development Foundation with total investment 0.6 billion rands (about 0.5 billion RMB), and its annual production volumes are 5,000 units.
The factory will create 500 jobs for local people, and South African President welcomes such investment.
Coega Development Company will provide workers and necessary trainings. Currently FAW owns distributors in more than 30 African countries. And their second phase Coega project will produce 50,000 passenger cars.
