FAW Jiefang Launches 6DV Super Factory and Unveils First Hydrogen Engine
On December 5, FAW Jiefang held a grand opening ceremony for its 6DV Super Factory in Dalian, Liaoning Province, marking the beginning of a new era in green and intelligent transportation. The event also saw the official launch of the company's first hydrogen engine, the CA6HV3, a major milestone in FAW Jiefang’s commitment to sustainable and innovative transportation solutions.

First Hydrogen Engine: Green and Powerful
The CA6HV3 hydrogen engine, developed entirely by FAW Jiefang, is China’s first direct injection hydrogen engine designed for heavy-duty commercial vehicles. This engine features leading thermal efficiency, a long lifespan, and zero carbon emissions, setting a new benchmark for the green powertrain sector. It is a testament to FAW Jiefang's significant technological advancement in the field of green energy.

Project Investment and Production Line
The 6DV Super Factory project has a total investment of 614 million RMB and will produce 5-7L medium-sized engines and heavy-duty hydrogen engines. Notably, the factory houses the world’s first production line dedicated to hydrogen engines, helping FAW Jiefang further expand its powertrain product lineup.

A New Standard in Smart Manufacturing
Construction of the 6DV Super Factory began in July 2022 with an investment of 620 million RMB. With strong support from the government and local authorities in Liaoning, Dalian, and Jinpu New District, the factory has become a new model for smart manufacturing. It has an annual production capacity of 50,000 engines.

Advanced Technology: The factory features a unique gear assembly process, achieving a machining precision of 5H grade and an automation rate of 83%. It also integrates green technologies such as solar power and air-source heat pumps, reducing carbon emissions by 9,249 tons annually and hazardous waste by 106 tons.
Efficiency: The factory is designed with lean production principles, ensuring optimal layout and production efficiency. It boasts a 99.99% first-pass yield and a global-leading automation level that ensures high-quality and efficient production.

Smart Systems: With advanced management systems, the factory has improved operational efficiency by 30%, implemented dynamic and visual logistics management, and achieved a 67.6% reduction in manual labor, meeting the highest industry standards for smart manufacturing.

Exceptional Performance of the 6DV Engine
The 6DV engine produced at the factory is a standout in the industry, delivering 640 horsepower, 3,000 Nm of torque, and an impressive lifespan of 2 million kilometers. These outstanding features, along with an extended maintenance cycle, offer users an unmatched driving experience.
Future Plans and Industry Impact
FAW Jiefang plans to expand production capabilities further to meet the growing demand for a variety of engines, including 15L natural gas engines, 15L hydrogen engines, 14.5L diesel engines, and 5-7L medium-sized engines.

The launch of the 6DV Super Factory and the hydrogen engine represents a major leap forward in FAW Jiefang’s powertrain technology and sets a new milestone for China’s powertrain industry. Looking ahead, FAW Jiefang will continue to focus on becoming a world-class provider of green and intelligent transportation solutions, creating greater value for global customers and contributing to the sustainable development of global automotive industry.
