FAW TRUCKS, Cainiao Sign Strategic Deal to Support Global Expansion
Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer FAW TRUCKS has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with logistics and supply chain company Cainiao Group, as the two companies seek to strengthen cooperation in sustainability, logistics, digital technology and overseas market expansion.
Under the agreement, FAW TRUCKS will work with Cainiao to develop a global cross-border e-commerce platform for vehicles and auto parts, leveraging Cainiao’s logistics technology and the broader Alibaba Group ecosystem.
The signing ceremony was attended by Li Sheng, chairman of FAW TRUCKS, and Wan Lin, chief executive officer of Cainiao Group.
Li said Cainiao is a leading player in smart logistics and a key partner in FAW TRUCKS’ transition toward technology-driven development. He added that the partnership will focus on addressing industry challenges, identifying new growth opportunities and improving coordination across the value chain.

Cooperation will cover areas including smart vehicles, warehousing networks, transport capacity coordination, and integrated global platforms for vehicle sales and after-sales services, with the aim of strengthening links between smart logistics and the commercial vehicle sector.
Wan said FAW TRUCKS is one of China’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers and is among the industry’s front runners in overseas markets. He noted that Cainiao will use its capabilities in global logistics networks and digital technologies to support FAW TRUCKS’ international expansion and enhance its global brand presence.
The partnership has already made early progress. As part of the development of FAW TRUCKS’ global cross-border e-commerce platform, the two companies are working with Alibaba ecosystem resources and using Cainiao’s expertise in artificial intelligence and big data to build a digital system covering cross-border logistics, payments and global marketing.
The system is expected to improve the efficiency of international distribution for FAW TRUCKS’ vehicles and spare parts, helping the company expand its overseas footprint and increase brand visibility.
FAW TRUCKS has identified global expansion as a core long-term strategy. Beyond digital platform development, the cooperation also supports overseas market operations, including complete vehicle exports, overseas KD parts shipments, and after-sales spare parts supply.
The company will rely on Cainiao’s global logistics network, overseas warehousing and distribution capabilities, and customs clearance services to build a stable and efficient end-to-end international supply chain.
Looking ahead, FAW TRUCKS said it plans to use the partnership to accelerate the rollout of its “SPRINT 2030” international strategy. The two companies aim to deepen cooperation, expand application scenarios and continue upgrading digital systems and global supply chain services to support FAW TRUCKS’ next phase of overseas growth.
